While I have covered in the past the injustice (social issue) of Smith v. Allwright (1944) laws treating political parties as "private clubs" and their expelling of members this new case takes the cake.
Catitlain Breedlove, a activist on Gay issues, was with her significant other on a public bench at the Cameron Village (shopping center / mall) when a Security Officer ask them both to leave for showing affection. It is claimed that the female Security Officer radioed her supervisor who also backed up the claim that Catitlin Breedlove and her partner must leave.
While the Cameron Village had no comment, it was reported that there will be sensitivity training given to the officers.
A protest by activists and other social issue groups is planned for this Sunday at 1 PM at the mall. The ACLU is looking at legal action.
