In the Great Depression, the Farm Security Administration implemented a relief camp system for poor homeless migrants that were American citizens.

I'm thinking we're almost at the point today where having something like that constructed and maintained to give the long-term homeless American citizens in this country a secure place to live would be a good idea.

We could locate them in agricultural areas that use migrant labor and the willing could compete with the illegal aliens for those jobs. The issue of illegal immigration I leave for another discussion.

Things have deteriorated enough to where reviving the camps for the long-term homeless makes sense as an intermediary measure for their welfare.
